Maximizing Your Story's Impact on Podcasts
In short: To maximize impact, your story needs a strong opening scene, a clear cost, one turning point, a vivid new normal, and a quiet bridge to your work. Rehearse it, then customize the framing for each show.

The story is your most portable asset
Across every podcast you go on, the one thing that moves with you is your story. It deserves to be the most rehearsed, most polished, most weaponized asset you own.
The 5 things that maximize impact
1. Open inside a scene
Drop the listener into a specific moment. Time of day, room, smell, what was on the screen. Specificity buys you the next 30 seconds of attention.
2. Name the real cost
Skip past the surface cost and name the deeper one. Identity, relationships, the version of yourself you were becoming. This is what makes the story stick.
3. One turning point only
The temptation is to list every insight. Resist. One turning point is memorable. Five is forgettable.
4. Show the new normal in concrete terms
"Things got better" does nothing. "Within 6 months I was turning away the kind of clients I used to chase" does everything.
5. The quiet bridge
End the story with one sentence that connects it to your work. Not a pitch, a bridge. "What I learned in that moment is what I now build inside [your method]."
Rehearsal is not optional
Tell the story out loud 10 times before your next interview. Record it. Listen back. Cut anything that does not earn its place.
Customize the framing per show
The story stays the same. The framing changes. For a sales-focused show, lead with the business cost. For a wellbeing-focused show, lead with the personal cost. Same story, different door.
The bottom line
You do not need a new story. You need to maximize the one you already have.
