What happens after you apply
The application takes about five minutes, one question at a time. Mina reads every one herself.
If you are ready to record, you will hear from her to set up a short prep call, then a studio date. If you would get more out of the episode by preparing first, she will tell you that plainly and show you where to start. Either way you get a straight answer.
Why apply through the form
Everyone who wants on the show goes through the same application, including people a friend has sent our way. It is how we make sure every guest arrives with the story worked out, so the forty minutes does something for you and for the people listening.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have been on a podcast before?
No. Nothing about your experience rules you out. It only changes how much preparation the episode needs, and we will tell you honestly which it is.
Do you record online?
No. We film in person at the studio in Auckland. It is a big part of why the episodes look and sound the way they do. If you cannot get to Auckland, tell us your dates when you are next up this way.
Will I see the questions in advance?
We share topics ahead of time, never a script, and there is no sign-off on the edit. Honest guests make the best episodes.
Someone referred me. Do I still need to apply?
Yes. Everyone goes through the application, and we read referred applications first.
